THE WAY TO SALVATION:

God desires that all of humanity be saved from eternal separation from God due to sin.  God has provided a way of salvation through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift, which comes to us by the grace (unmerited generosity) of God. These are the steps we must take to be saved:

Realize that we have all sinned and we cannot save ourselves, but because of love God has provided salvation for us.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood….” Romans 3:23-25a (New Living Translation (NLT))

Recognize Jesus Christ as the Savior.

“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.” Romans 5:6-9 (NLT)

Repent and Pray to Receive Christ as your Savior.

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.” Jew and Gentile are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on Him.  For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.” Romans 10:9-13 (NLT)

Respond to your salvation by living your life by faith in Christ and based upon God’s word, as found in the Bible; for this pleases God.

“Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.” Romans 5:1 (NLT)

“And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.” Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
